Matthew Broderick is an American actor. He starred in WarGames (1983) as a teen government hacker, and Ladyhawke (1985), a medieval fantasy alongside Rutger Hauer and Michelle Pfeiffer. He played the title role in the Golden Globe–nominated Ferris Bueller's Day Off (1986), the voice of adult Simba in Disney's The Lion King (1994), and Leo Bloom in both the Broadway musical The Producers and its 2005 film adaptation. Other films he has starring credits in include Glory (1989), The Freshman (1990), The Cable Guy (1996), Godzilla (1998), Inspector Gadget (1999), You Can Count on Me (2000), The Last Shot (2004) and Tower Heist (2011). Broderick also directed himself in Infinity (1996) and provided voice work in Arabian Knight (1995), Good Boy! (2003), Bee Movie (2007), The Tale of Despereaux (2008) and Wonder Park (2019).

Broderick has won two Tony Awards, one for Best Featured Actor in a Play for Brighton Beach Memoirs (1983), and one for Best Actor in a Musical for How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying (1995). In 2001, he starred in Mel Brooks's musical comedy The Producers alongside Nathan Lane.
