It was founded on March 15, 1949. Productions from this company are distributed on/in home media formats by Walt Disney Studios Home Entertainment through the 20th Century Home Entertainment banner.

20th Television was part of the majority of 21st Century Fox's assets acquired by Disney in 2019, where it was the television arm of 20th Century Fox.
